Change is always so difficult. Kitty No and I have a very solid routine. Our first stop in the morning is the bathroom. She hops in the tub and I turn on the water for her to drink from a little stream.
And it’s not just in the morning. Sometimes when I walk past the bathroom door, I see a dark shape in the tub. What was that? Oh yes, it’s her sitting there, by faith, waiting on me to turn on the water. Now you need to know she has a big bowl of fresh water by her food dish.
The running water must just taste better. Whatever the reason, it is our routine. Sometimes I will tell her, “I am going to get my bath. You want to get a drink?” And off we go!!! But, now there is a change in our routine.
Everything was going good. For years it’s been going good and then…
It was a CATastrophe!!!
Momma (me) thought it was time for a change.
I had finished the KITCHEN and had my home almost back in order, then decided it was about time to remodel our bathroom. This is not a renovation. It is not a update.
It is a devastating demolition of everything precious in that space. If you want to know the difference in Renovate, Remodel, or Update click HERE.
Kitty No you can’t go in there. I am so sorry!!!
This is definitely going to be a remodel.
5 or 6 years ago we bought the new toilet, sink, faucets, tile, etc. Then, it was either too hot or too cold or too hot or too cold. No, that’s not a typo. Then hubby’s health took priority. He was to weak and this demo was a bigger job than I could handle.
My friend’s son was in need of a job and I was in need of a demo guy. We agreed on a price and he stripped the room to the studs in 2 days. Those little 4″square tiles were set with mesh that was nailed to the studs and layered with about 1″ of concrete. It was built to last, except for the color. It is definitely time for a change. Note: just in case you are concerned. That is not dust on her fur. It is a grainy photo.
She was pretty upset that not only was the tile, sink and toilet gone but the bathtub is gone. “But, mamma the faucet is still there. Can I get a drink?”
“No, Kitty No!”
Sometimes we leave things just as they are, even if we know we need to do something new or different. Change is hard and it is also inevitable. God loves us just as we are but He loves us too much to leave us just as we are.
This is a work in progress and will take a few posts. TO BE CONTINUED….
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 ESV
’til next time,
